Since this seems to be a issue with more then one of us, just thought I would let you all know...
Our AC went out this past Thursday and we called Goodman (the maker of our unit) and they said we have a limited warranty until 2015. They had us call Alpine Air (the company who did the install) and Avery sent out a guy who replaced our capacitor, filled our freon, and will be replacing our coil this Friday... all for FREE... including labor. Our house is a Brighton home and was built in 06 (I believe.)
The number to Goodman to verify your warranty is 877-254-4729. Have your model and serial number ready. After you verify that you have a warranty call Alpine Air and be sure to tell them you have a warranty with Goodman and that your house is a Brighton home. The lady tried to tell me that different parts of the unit have different warranty times, but I have the letter that stated the unit has a 10 year limited warranty....and for some reason everything that broke was magically covered. The limited part is excluding situations like flooding....and they aren't supposed to pay for labor...except for when they have to replace the coil. In our case the coil was one of the issues so they took care all of the labor charges.
